Customs Clerk

Our client is an international logistics company, specialised in international, 3rd-party and freight forwarding business; they are currently looking to appoint an experienced Customs Clerk to help grow the business from their Chelmsford branch. As Customs Clerk, in a typical day you will be advising customers on the most effective customs procedures, dealing with queries quickly and efficiently and arranging deliveries onward to the client. Duties of the Customs Clerk:

• Loading jobs in Multifreight when required
• Preparing CDS entries
• Ongoing learning of Customs Regimes/Commodity Codes/CPC Codes
• Handling post-clearance documents
• Communication with clients, shipping lines and overseas offices/agents
• Raising and passing invoices
• Assist and prepare for audits by HMRC
