A leading corrugated cardboard packaging manufacturer in Chelmsford is seeking a Head of Sales responsible for generating new business, maintaining current customer relationships, and managing a sales team of four.A basic salary of £80,000 - £90,000 is on offer with a bonus of up to 15% based on achieving objectives. Additional benefits include:

The role is split across three main areas: team management, business development and driving the site sales strategy. As the Head of Sales, you will:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s market presence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Analyse market trends and data to create accurate forecasts and set performance goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the team of 4, providing guidance and support to achieve targets.
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure products meet customer needs and market demands.
  • Develop and implement effective new business and selling strategies to achieve company objectives, with a strong emphasis on margin enhancement and control.
  • Participate as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience in the paper / print / packaging industry, with a preference for experience in corrugated packaging.
  • Previous experience as a Head of Sales, BDM Manager, Sales Director / Manager / Lead etc.
  • Excellent management skills with experience in managing business development, people, budgets, and target achievement.
  • Proven direct selling skills and a track record of closing major deals, with a good working knowledge of commercial and company finance.
