We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator with a strong background in commercial construction to join our growing team. This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the estimation and tendering process, ensuring that mechanical systems and services are accurately costed for commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical services for commercial construction projects.
Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and associated costs.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary pricing and information.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Attend site visits and liaise with project managers and site teams to assess project requirements and ensure the accuracy of estimates.
Assess project risks and provide mitigation strategies in the estimation process.
Provide support in preparing tender submissions and negotiate with clients and suppliers to secure contracts.
Maintain detailed records of estimates, project costs, and associated documentation.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and building regulations to ensure accurate pricing.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the commercial construction sector.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and services (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
Excellent knowledge of cost estimation software and tools.
Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Previous experience working with contractors, subcontractors, and clients within the commercial sector is highly desirable.
