SEN Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Your main role as a SEN Specialist will be to provide 1:1 support for a child with special educational, social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, ensuring their full integration into classroom activities and progression.
  • Dive into specific programs and activities tailored to meet individual learning and social needs, implementing targets outlined in pupils' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with class teachers and the SENCo.

SEN Specialist what we're looking for:

  • An individual with a solid understanding of Autism and effective strategies, such as TEACCH, to support pupils with this need.
  • Knowledge and empathy for social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as cognitive challenges affecting children and young people's development.
  • Exceptional listening skills and the ability to build trusting relationships that foster growth and confidence.
  • Resilience is key! Take on regular responsibility for agreed learning activities with enthusiasm and determination.
  • Champion inclusion
  • Promote and support the participation of all pupils in learning and social skills activities.
  • Utilize positive and personalized anxiety management strategies to create a nurturing and supportive environment for our pupils.
