The Opportunity We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Reception Assistant to join a dedicated team, acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, internal staff, and external clients. This role plays a vital part in providing a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service while delivering key administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing reception duties, including answering calls, handling post, and greeting visitors, jurors, witnesses, and legal teams.
- Providing advice and guidance on security requirements, courtroom procedures, and identity document requirements.
- Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies and procedures, sharing information with colleagues.
- Managing courtroom bookings and supporting administrative tasks.
- Assisting in monitoring and evaluating reception service performance.
- Maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
- Diffusing challenging situations and handling occasional confrontational behaviour professionally.
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) with a Level 2 Customer Service qualification or relevant experience.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a professional environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
- Experience working within a team and developing positive working relationships.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently and accurately.
