We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a brand new nursery based in the heart of Chelmsford. They are on the search for anenthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join their team. This is an amazing opportunity that you do not want to miss, you will be apart of a setting right from the start, ensuring nutritious meals and a clan, safe dining environment for the children.

What would your responsibilities be:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks for children, following prescribed dietary requirements and menus.
  • Ensure that the hot meal deliver to the nursery has been packaged safe and reach the nursery in the highest standards to prevent cross contamination.
  • Ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Ensure where needed you are able to cover in the rooms to support the care of the children.

What are we looking for in their hire?

  • Previous experience in a kitchen assistant role, preferably within a childcare or educational setting, is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine interest in nutrition and providing health snacks for young children
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene and safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent skills in working in a team and the ability to communicate.
  • Be able to have an Enhanced DBS check completed.
