Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a national development & planning team that advises clients across the UK on a wide range of development opportunities, catering to both public and private sectors, including house builders and developers. The team specializes in regions forecasted for significant housing growth, including London, South East, South West, Midlands, North, East Anglia, and Scotland. By closely collaborating with Valuation, Residential/New Homes, Rural, and Commercial business lines, they offer comprehensive planning and development solutions.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful planning consultancies in East Anglia. You will support the expansion of the Chelmsford planning team, working on a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on various planning and development projects.
  • Contribute to both local plan preparation and development management processes.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Manage competing demands and prioritize tasks effectively to meet clients' expectations.
  • Advocate innovative ideas and problem-solve effectively within the team.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the Chelmsford office and the wider company.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years' experience with a private consultancy or local authority
  • Skills: Proficiency in report and proposal writing, presentation skills, and strong communication abilities.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, managing tasks for yourself and others.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
