In-House Legal Advisor required for large successful rapidly expanding company.

The role is working for the UK's largest independent car dealership and reports direct into the board. The role is crucial in developing the companies legal and compliance strategies. Your responsibilities will include advising on contracts, resolving consumer disputes, and supporting commercial decision-making, ensuring the protection and advancement of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Guidance: Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues, including agreements with suppliers and customers, litigation, consumer matters and property concerns.
  • Contract Management: Create, review, and negotiate commercial contracts that support business goals while minimising legal risks.
  • Litigation Oversight: Manage civil litigation claims from initiation to conclusion, handling all required documentation.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Partner with the Compliance and HR teams to uphold and enhance governance processes, policies, and standards.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work with lenders and external parties to negotiate terms, agreements, and resolve consumer-related issues.
  • Internal Education: Design and conduct training sessions to provide teams with practical legal insights.
  • External Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with external legal service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Support regulatory submissions and reporting, including FCA returns, in collaboration with internal departments.

You should be a qualified solicitor with 2+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate, commercial, or consumer law.
