Job Title: Residential Conveyancing Assistant

Location: Chelmsford/ Leigh-on-sea

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 (based on experience).

Job Description:

A reputable law firm is looking for an experienced and proactive Residential Conveyancing Assistant to join their close-knit, caring team. This firm is dedicated to supporting its employees and providing a clear path for career progression. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential property law/ mortgage advising. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing residential conveyancing transactions from instruction to completion.
  • Preparing legal documents, contracts, and correspondence for clients, estate agents, and other parties involved.
  • Conducting property searches and liaising with relevant parties, including mortgage lenders, local authorities, and other solicitors.
  • Providing expert advice to clients, particularly in relation to mortgage processes and property transactions.
  • Assisting with property sales and purchases, drafting contracts, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Maintaining up-to-date case files and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Organising meetings and communicating effectively with clients and all relevant parties.
  • Providing timely updates to clients on the progress of their transactions.
  • Meeting deadlines and managing workloads effectively.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience in residential conveyancing (ideally 1+ years).
  • A background in mortgage advising or a strong understanding of the mortgage process.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to contribute to the team's success.
