Job Title: New Build and Shared Ownership Conveyancing Assistant/Paralegal

Days/hours of work: Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Job Role:

The role of new build conveyancing assistant involves general administrative duties, client care and the legal process as directed by your fee earner. You will have the ability to work under supervision and have good organisational and time keeping details along with excellent attention to details. You will need to be able to meet set deadlines and complete your work with confidence whilst demonstrating an ability to prioritise urgent matters. You will be supervised and provided with the support and training required to work towards becoming an independent fee earner. You will also need the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support your Fee Earner(s) in the management of their caseload by actioning legal procedures as directed by the Fee Earner(s);
  • Contract Reports;
  • Mortgage Reports, Reporting Gifts and Incentives;
  • To carry out electronic ID checks on all New Build Clients and ensure these meet the standard required
  • Update sales negotiators as and when required;
  • Once signed off by Fee earner, exchange contracts and prepare exchange paperwork;
  • taking instructions from clients;
  • sending terms and conditions of business and estimates of fees and disbursements;
  • carry out OS2 and Bankruptcy searches and ensuring these remain in date;
  • collating and sending or checking supporting documents;
  • Learning new schemes associated with new build;
  • Carry out any additional admin work within the department or organisation;
  • Issuing contracts and dealing with any related sale or part exchange enquiries;
  • Ensure once notice is received, completion board is updated and complete completion checklist procedures;
  • Attending site visits, site launches and shows (if required).

Skills Required:

  • 2 years of experience working in Conveyancing within Law
  • Excellent communication and timekeeping skills
  • Be highly organised and focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Positive, professional, and friendly persona
