This company play a vital role within wider group operations as a rapidly growing Aerospace non-automated Surface Treatments facility. This NadCap approved facility provides essential surface treatments, anodising, mask and paint finish and NDT to both the wider group and its own dedicated customer base. Following a large investment in 2019 they have continually diversified, offering an extremely efficient and professional service to all clients.

This role will see the successful candidate maintain quality, cost, safety and people to maximise operating capacity and output - ensuring on-time in-full objectives and sales targets are met. The suitable individual will be well organised, able to communicate accurately in a succinct manner to manage complex staffing and material challenges and ensure the general smooth running of the site. These skills will also translate into liaising with other internal and external stakeholders who require accurate updates and greater understanding of production processes and progress.

The Role:

  • Develop and implement Production Plans / Schedules to meet production targets
  • Utilise labour efficiently, ensuring productivity is maximised
  • Assessing resource requirements and set plans for required training / Personal Improvement Plans (PIP's) and / or overtime
  • Manage throughput and labour to meet production demands in all areas including inspection
  • Ensure best working practices, and continuous improvement activities are driven
  • Oversee production processes to ensure quality standards, safety regulations and environmental guidelines are adhered to
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, providing timescales or schedules for delivery as necessary based on capacity availability
  • Create production schedules through Microsoft Excel / ERP System for various Internal and External customers
  • Liaising with indirect Production Planning / Production Control and direct Team Leader / Supervisors to ensure on time in full (OTIF) is met
  • Supervising and overseeing the work of production staff, providing guidance, training and working with the Operations Manager on performance evaluations / appraisals
  • Mentoring direct employees, to improve understanding and comprehension driving team moral and creating a positive team culture
  • Identify areas of improvement and bottlenecks. Help implement solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs and minimise waste / rework
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of production equipment and machinery is carried out
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to ensure adequate supply of raw materials including paints and consumables required for production processes
  • Collaborate with Quality Department to record scrap and rework. Assist in RCCA/5Y's etc. as required

The Person:

  • Previous experience in a Supervisory / Production Management role in a similar facility
  • Sufficient Surface Treatment experience is preferrable
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing or similar
  • Support in the implementation of the Epicor Kinetic ERP system
