Are you an experienced service engineer looking to take on a critical role supporting essential industries? Our client, a leading provider of industrial and commercial burner equipment services, is seeking a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with NHS hospitals, food production manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and other vital organizations.

About the Role:

As a Commercial Gas Engineer, you will provide on-site reactive and planned maintenance, fault-finding, diagnosis, repair, installation, servicing, and commissioning of industrial and commercial burner equipment. The role offers structured salary progression based on your development and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair faults in industrial and commercial burner equipment.
  • Perform installation, servicing, and commissioning tasks.
  • Provide high-quality reactive and planned maintenance.
  • Adhere to site permits and company/customer Health and Safety standards.
  • Participate in the emergency call-out rota once training is complete.

Salary Progression:

  • Starting salary: £46,381 during trial period.
  • Post-trial salary: £50,107 while shadowing and learning.
  • Fully trained salary: £55,676 upon completing training and joining the on-call rota.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Proven engineering background with several years of experience.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, or as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Current Gas Safe registration (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, and CORT1).
  • Experience in a similar service role.
  • Knowledge of burners or steam systems.
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.

Working Hours and Benefits:

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime: Paid at £37.68 per hour for additional hours.
  • Holidays: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional day off for your birthday.
  • Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
  • Health care benefits after 6 months of employment.
