Position: Mechanical Engineer (Contract)
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Contract Duration: 2 months (potentional to extend)
Day rate: Competitive (Based on Experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a leading automotive dealership in Chelmsford on a contract basis. The successful candidate will have 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within the automotive sector, with a strong focus on vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues in various vehicle systems (engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension).
Collaborate with the service department to ensure the smooth operation of repair and maintenance tasks.
Assist with vehicle repairs, from routine servicing to complex mechanical issues, ensuring quality and compliance with dealership standards.
Develop technical documentation, including reports and maintenance guidelines for new and used vehicles.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices in mechanical engineering processes.
Work closely with the parts department to ensure availability of required components for repairs.

Requirements

5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on automotive systems.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicle mechanical systems.
Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment used in automotive repairs.
Strong knowledge of vehicle technologies, including hybrid and electric systems (preferred).
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Interview Process
