We are seeking a passionate and dedicated primary SEND Teacher to join our educational team at our lovely school in Chelmsford. The role will be a key stage 2 class for students with severe learning difficulties.
The class size of 7 students, will be supported with 3 teaching assistants.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for children, particularly within primary settings. This role involves educating and mentoring young learners, ensuring their developmental needs are met while providing engaging and interactive lessons.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the educational needs of children.
- Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and exploration.
- Provide individualised support to students, including tutoring and mentoring as needed.
- Engage in toddler care, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children under your supervision.
- Conduct assessments to track student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support children's educational journeys.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
The person
- Strong background in primary education, with experience in preschool settings preferred.
- Proficient in proofreading educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Experience working with children, demonstrating patience and understanding in diverse situations.
- Knowledge of effective tutoring techniques to support individual learning needs.
- Ability to provide quality childcare while promoting educational growth through play-based learning.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
