Job Title: Payroll Administrator Location: ChelmsfordSalary: Up to £35kEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentJGA is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our clients team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing ourpayroll processes and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements. If you have a strong background in payroll administration and have experience using ADP iHCM (or other ADP packages), we would love to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:
  • Input and update employee records accurately and promptly into the ADP iHCM system.
  • Run payroll reports and reconcile them for approval.
  • Reconcile HMRC payments to EPS and gateway.
  • Administer statutory pay and deductions, ensuring compliance with UK payroll regulations.
  • Manage RSUs and stock exercises for employees.
  • Ensure compliance with National Minimum Wage (NMW) requirements.
  • Prepare data for end-of-tax-year processes and reports.
  • Prepare Payroll General Ledger (GL) for upload into the Finance system.
  • Coordinate with pension providers to ensure accurate data submission.
  • Resolve queries from employees, HR, and other parties, investigating discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable payroll information is delivered to the business.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of company policies and compliance standards.
  • Support ad-hoc administrative tasks and payroll-related projects as needed.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  • Essential: Experience using ADP iHCM (or other ADP payroll systems in your current role).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll administration, including statutory pay, deductions, and compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Experience handling payroll volumes of 1000+ employees (our UK payroll is 1400).
  • Ability to reconcile HMRC payments and ensure accurate tax-year end processing.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other payroll-related software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with employees, HR, and external parties.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
