Locum Children's Physiotherapist - Band 6

Main duties:

Physiotherapy management of children aged 0-19 (depending on clinician experience) who present with neurodevelopmental conditions.

To assess and provide advice and physio programmes with goal of progressing motor development or managing symptoms which may be impacting on motor development.

To write clear and accurate SOAP notes, be able to write reports for family and other professionals as well as input advice and recommendations to inform EHCP provisions as required.

Appointments may be carried out in clinic setting, homes, schools and nurseries depending on need.

Liaise with wider MDT in relation to the children’s needs, including acute and tertiary centres. onward specialist referrals, involvement in health/social care/education meetings and safeguarding supervision.

Skills required

Experience of working with children in a physiotherapy setting.

Experience of working independently as well as with other therapy colleagues and the wider MDT.

Confidence and competence to assess and make appropriate recommendations to children and their families based on clinical observation and clinical assessment.

An understanding of typical development and therefore the ability to recognise when development may be deviating from the typical path.

Good communication skills with children ages 0-19 and their families/carers/teachers etc.

Good communication skills with children who may use alternative methods of communication.

To be able to write professional patient notes and reports.

To manage own diary and be flexible with changes to that may occur dependent on service need.

To be able to be flexible and be willing to support or cover work for substantive members of staff if the needs arises.

Full or part time

Duration is negotiable

Location Chelmsford, Essex, community and clinic working.

Car driver is essential.
