Assistant PrincipalMy client is a leading SEN Education setting who is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Principal to join their leadership team. The role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality education, fostering an organized and effective school environment, and maintaining exceptional safeguarding standards. As an integral member of the leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive, inspiring, and inclusive culture.To be considered, you will have extensive experience of SEN/ SEMH in the Primary age phaseKey Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Principal and senior leaders to uphold outstanding standards of education, therapy, and care.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, delivering safeguarding training and updates.
  • Organize and oversee efficient school operations, including timetabling and staff management.
  • Lead by example in classroom practice, supporting and mentoring teachers to maintain excellent educational standards.
  • Establish professional relationships with staff, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and enhance the quality of teaching, ensuring a cohesive, pupil-centered curriculum.
  • Manage annual statutory reviews, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support staff recruitment, induction, and development to maintain a motivated and effective team.
The idea candidate:You are an experienced educator with a proven track record of working with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. You demonstrate exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills and are passionate about fostering an inclusive and inspiring environment. You have a proactive approach to safeguarding and the ability to manage complex challenges positively and effectively.Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status and experience teaching in primary or secondary settings.
  • Outstanding knowledge of child development and SEMH/SEN practices.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, education policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team, fostering accountability and high standards.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Leadership experience in a challenging context.
  • Knowledge of school improvement strategies and independent school standards.
  • Additional training in CP (Child Protection) and Safer Recruitment.
