Job Advert: Customer Development Assistant
Salary: £25 - £30k (depending on experience) + bonuses
Hours: 09:00 - 17:30, Monday to Friday
Holiday: 23 days per year + bank holidays
Location: Chelmsford

Based in our offices on the outskirts of Chelmsford, the Customer Development Executive will join our current Sales team. Liaising with customers and suppliers on a daily basis via the telephone and ticketing systems you will be a key member of the sales support team as you ensure the customers are kept informed of their order status and the team are able to provide accurate information to all enquiries. This role is fundamental to the team being able to deliver timely and accurate information.
Key responsibilities include:
- Qualifying incoming calls from customers to ensure you fully understand their requirements
- Fielding calls from suppliers resolving any queries and escalating as appropriate.
- Creating opportunities from incoming calls and emails and quoting accordingly.
- Quote and Sales order follow-up calls, on a daily basis.
- Processing online orders, upselling and switch selling where appropriate.
- Dealing with all inbound tickets via the Zendesk system, responding within agreed timescales
- Ensuring all inboxes are maintained and Service Level Agreements regarding Response Times are maintained
- Build customer and supplier relationships by providing a professional and timely response
- Processing Customer details on various customer portals
- Any other duties required by managers
Skills Required:
- Highly motivated team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to form good working relationships with people.
- Happy to work to team targets with an ambition to exceed minimum expectations.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous work experience within a target-driven environment.
- Strong IT and computer literacy skills (including spreadsheets, CRM systems, email.)
- Good punctuality and time management
- Organised with great attention to details.
- Ability to take initiative and to work independently with an accountable approach.
- An ability to 'hit the ground running' to deliver excellent customer care
- Willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work to deadlines
