Electronics Production Technician | Chelmsford

An exciting opportunity exists for an Engineer / Technician to join the Space Imaging Team in Chelmsford which provides performance CCD, Infrared and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications.

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join a highly successful manufacturing team, to develop high precision silicon assembly and provide onward support to manufacture. This is an exciting role where you will be involved in the
development of new and existing Probe capabilities for the testing of CCD / CMOS Wafers

Daily duties:
  • Electronics Assembly, clean room work
  • Furnishing, geometrical measurement, OGP equipment usage
  • Assist with writing procedures for the prototyping of new products
  • Continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing team
  • Generation of SAP ME routings from the manufacturing flow diagrams
  • Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
  • Work to existing NPI processes
Experience required:
  • Experience of Production / Manufacturing as an Engineer or Technician within an electronics / precision engineering environment
  • Electronics Assembly / Production experience
  • Good hand / eye coordination for working down scope / camera
  • Experience with plating, furnishing, nickel / gold
  • Basic Machine programming experience is desirable
  • ONC / HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
