Day Centre Manager

  • Must have day centre experience
  • A relevant qualification gained in a health or social care setting
  • At least 5 years experience of providing care services to elderly and vulnerable people in a residential home, day centre or other relevant environment or capacity
  • Significant experience of staff management and supervision in a relevant social care, health, voluntary sector, or advice setting
  • A creative and inspiring approach to caring for older people
  • Demonstrable experience of caring and supporting older people with a variety of needs, such as mobility impairment, mental disability, early onset dementia/Alzheimers disease
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in both 1:1 and group situations, and be a proven team worker especially able to communicate with tact and sensitivity when appropriate
  • Innate professionalism and a respect of confidentiality
  • The ability to network confidently and to inspire the confidence and respect of carers, stakeholders and local agencies
  • We are looking for a candidate who is a strong communicator, organised, with an eye for detail and can work well under pressure with conflicting priorities. A candidate who can advocate for, empower and lead a team to work to the best of their ability.
  • You will have experience of working with adults with complex disabilities to promote their independence, resilience and well-being.
  • You will have experience of supervising and managing staff for a minimum of 2 years, working in a comparable care role setting.
  • You will need to demonstrate and promote safe working practices, showing innovative and creativity in meeting the needs of both residents and visitors to the centre. To be able to demonstrate best practice, sound quality assurance methods and performance/budget monitoring within an agreed resource allocation.
  • You will have a genuine passion for the provision of high quality services for adults. A commitment to strengths based ways of working and being a practical thinker while keeping the person at the centre of our strategic vision.
  • You will have awareness of Social Care legislation, including safeguarding adults.
  • You will have understanding and demonstrate principles of Equality and Diversity.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency team and good IT skills are essential.
