We are currently seeking a Procurement Officer on behalf of our client in Essex, to join a public sector team! They are a small, close team who work together to manage the tenders for the council - this is a great opportunity for a Junior Procurement Officer looking for the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-to-end procurement advice and manage tenders for all Council Services, including leisure services and building works.
  • Manage the Council's e-tendering system, ensuring staff are trained and supported, and lead the tendering process
  • Review existing contracts, identifying risks and areas for cost savings.
  • Develop selection and evaluation schemes for competitive procurement exercises.
  • Represent the Council at procurement events and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Deliver training on procurement best practises to staff and members.
  • Ensure transparency by preparing and publishing spend analysis data.
