A renowned, award-winning developer based in North Essex is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to build their career with a reputable company, specialising in high-end new build and heritage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for high-end new build and heritage projects.
  • Support senior quantity surveyors with procurement, tendering, and subcontractor management.
  • Help manage project costs, monitor budgets, and assist with valuations and variations.
  • Support contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Attend site visits to track project progress and ensure compliance with cost and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of costs, contracts, and financial information.


Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND).
  • Some experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the construction industry (could be a placement, internship, or prior role).
  • Strong numeracy, organisational, and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive, motivated individual who is eager to learn and progress within a commercial team.
  • Ideally based within a commutable distance of North Essex.


Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (desirable).
  • Some experience in Quantity Surveying or the construction industry
