Development Manager

Skilled Careers are looking to speak to Development Managers with experience working on residential led projects, the development manager will join a leading residential developer and work as part of a pre-construction team across major residential projects.

£60,000 - £70,000 + Package

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather all necessary information on projects including liability concerns.
  • Analyse project documentation to identify and assess risk levels.
  • Oversee and track budgets related to risk management and remediation.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations of projects with potential liability, verifying all relevant details.
  • Work closely with company legal advisors and external solicitors to clarify legal, lease, and freehold status.
  • Review documentation to assess if liability is shared with other developer entities or offset by third-party actions and ensure timely notifications are issued and followed up on.
  • Build and sustain professional relationships with external experts, including fire safety engineers, architects, project managers, cost advisors, contractors, and solicitors, to secure quality advice and ensure the availability of qualified consultants/contractors as needed.
  • Develop project plans for individual sites, including timelines and cost assessments, to guide remediation based on fire risk evaluations.
  • When necessary, lead the tendering and appointment process for external project managers and cost consultants to oversee and implement remediation plans according to an agreed action strategy.
  • Define comprehensive employer requirements or design solutions to enable competitive tendering, selecting contractors from a pre-approved list. Negotiate terms to secure cost-effective solutions and finalise contracts that minimise organisational risk
