About Us:

Oxbury is a professional practice of Chartered Surveyors recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Chelmsford.

About the role:

The role will include providing services on a range of exciting and innovative projects including zero carbon, Passivhaus and modular construction, residential and mixed-use schemes. Working with both the residential and commercial teams, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several projects. This includes responsibility for preparing cost estimates and plans as well as early advice on financial viability; providing contract / procurement advice and administration, including drafting procurement documents; carrying out valuations and identifying value engineering opportunities; and monthly cost reporting including agreeing cost for variations and final accounts.

You’ll work as part of an Associate Director-led team with appropriate administrative and technical support and you’ll be responsible for assisting with the training and supervising more junior members of the team.

About you:

  • You’ll need to be RICS (or equivalent) professionally qualified (or nearing qualification) and have experience of cost management and reporting with a private practice or consultancy.
  • You’ll be able to demonstrate your skills in traditional, design and build and contract administration, as well as budget and project reporting.
  • You’ll have experience of providing early advice and liaison with clients. If you are also professional, diplomatic and client focussed then you could be just who we are looking for.
