Our Client are a leading residential developer specialising in traditional new build projects in East Anglia, they are looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor on a Fixed Term Contract for 9 months (minimum, there is potential that this could be a longer contract) based out of their Essex office. 

About the Role:

You will be playing a key role in managing project costs and ensuring compliance with company policies. Your responsibilities will include procurement, payments, valuation, and supporting Health and Safety administration. The role will predominantly be involved with traditional residential development schemes with sites ranging from 100 to 200 units located across in Essex

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of client valuations
  • Arranging payments to suppliers and subcontractors
  • Assisting with Change Control management
  • Assisting in the preparation of final accounts
  • Providing advice and forecasts about costs
  • Assisting in compiling Cashflows
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Assisting with any Contractual Notices
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Ensuring Collateral Warranties are tracked, issued, executed
  • Ensuring latest Insurances are in place for Subcontractors working on Project
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

The ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Prior experience working for a residential developer ideally with traditional house building experience 
  • Ideally be available to commence work as soon as possible
