Our client, a leading entity in the Highways sector, is seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join their Highways team in Essex. This is a permanent role that promises professional growth and dynamic project involvement.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing cost control procedures including financial planning, estimating, budgeting, and cost reporting
  • Administering NEC contracts to ensure compliance and successful project delivery
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders and contracts
  • Conducting risk and value management and cost control
  • Advising on procurement strategy and identifying potential improvements
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting any variances to senior management
  • Collaborating with site managers, clients, contractors, and design teams
  • Providing accurate forecasting and managing project budgets effectively


Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the highways sector
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and their administration
  • Experience in civil engineering projects, with an understanding of heavy civils being beneficial
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in cost management software and financial reporting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant qualification in quantity surveying or a related field
