Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Chelmsford (Must be local)
Salary: £50 - £55k per year - Car/Car Allowance

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in managing large-scale commercial projects and extensive experience with tier 1 main contractors. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be instrumental in ensuring that all commercial aspects of our projects are executed with efficiency and precision. Key responsibilities include pricing project work, maintaining cost control, managing contractor relationships, and actively engaging with our end client and various stakeholders.

Project Scope:
Projects will range in value from £1 million to £10 million, focusing on various commercial refurbishment and construction services, including but not limited to:
  • Roofing Schemes
  • HV/LV Replacements
  • Brickwork Repairs and Rebuilds
  • Internal Refurbishments and Decorations
  • Fireproofing Installations
  • Civil Works and Drainage Solutions
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed pricing on projects ranging from £1 million to £10 million
  • Manage and collaborate with supply chain partners across the designated regional area
  • Prepare subcontract documentation and manage the procurement of subcontract packages
  • Assess and process subcontractor payments, including liabilities
  • Oversee the management of Defined Cost and maintain pain/gain tracking
  • Represent the company in client and supply chain meetings, upholding professionalism and fostering positive relationships
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience: Demonstrated commercial experience with a tier 1 contractor is essential
  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Contract Knowledge: Proficient in JCT D&B and NEC contract forms
  • Communication: Strong ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third parties
  • Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel and Project
