Job Description:
A prestigious, award-winning developer based in North Essex is looking to hire a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to start or develop their career in Quantity Surveying, with a focus on high-end new build and heritage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.
- Support senior quantity surveyors with procurement and subcontractor management.
- Assist with valuations, variations, and claims.
- Maintain accurate records of costs, budgets, and contracts.
- Attend site visits and help monitor the progress of projects.
- Help with contract administration and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop your understanding of the construction process, including estimating and cost control.
Ideal Candidate:
- A keen interest in the construction industry and an eagerness to develop a career in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Ideally based within a commutable distance of North Essex.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (desirable but not essential).
- No prior experience in Quantity Surveying is required, although any relevant experience or internships would be beneficial.
