The Role
We are seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to manage developer-funded highway infrastructure projects as part of the Highways Integrated Services contract. You will ensure designs and constructions meet Highway Authority standards for adoption as public highways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee highway works to ensure compliance with planning obligations and policies.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and quality for projects.
  • Lead consultations with Local Planning Authorities and ensure legal agreements are in place.
  • Provide technical direction to team members and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Offer advice on highway-related matters to Councillors, District Members, and the public.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience in highways/transportation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Highway legislation (Highway Act 1980, CDM 2015) and Health & Safety.
  • Project management experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
