Purchase Ledger Assistant

  • Location: Chelmsford, Essex
  • Job Type: Full-time 8.30am-5pm office based
  • Salary: £23,000- £29,000 (dependant on experience)

We are currently representing a family run business who is looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their Purchase Ledger team. This role is perfect for someone either with experience in Purchase Ledger who is looking for a stable and rewarding career path, or someone who is good with numbers and would like to begin a career working within Purchase Ledger. The role is office-based in Chelmsford with free parking on site, and the working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 am to 5 pm.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Register and authorise invoices.
  • Handle supplier invoice queries by raising debit notes and chasing for credits.
  • Process supplier credit notes and cancel debits as necessary.
  • Prepare and raise supplier payments.
  • Assist with the processing of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Liaise with branches to investigate internal invoice queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in Purchase Ledger is advantageous, but they will look at junior candidates also.
  • Positive attitude and professional conduct when dealing with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills and accurate information recording.
  • Initiative to develop skills, knowledge, and behaviour.
  • Literate and numerate.
  • Sense of humour, ability to mix well with colleagues and form good relationships is a must.
