We are working alongside a secondary school based in Essex who are seeking a dynamic and passionate Religious Education (RE) teacher to join their team starting from December 2024. The role is a full-time, fixed-term position for the academic year, ending in July 2025. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in RE to students across [KS3/KS4/KS5] and will play a key part in supporting students' academic and personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging RE lessons to students of varying abilities, ensuring that all students make progress.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, reflection, and understanding of world religions and ethical issues.
  • Mark and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to help students improve and meet their potential.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom behavior, creating a positive and respectful learning environment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to curriculum development, resources, and teaching strategies.
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings and school events as required.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school to ensure the best outcomes for all students.

Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified teacher.
  • A right to work in the UK is essential for this role.
  • Proven experience of teaching RE at [KS3/KS4/KS5] level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with a variety of learning styles.
  • Passionate about fostering an inclusive, thoughtful, and respectful approach to the study of religion and ethics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
