Reed are working with a company who are seeking a diligent and organised Hire Assistant to support there Hire Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of the hire department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely dispatch of hires, accurate coordination of collections, and maintaining high standards of equipment testing and cleanliness.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Assist in preparing all hires for timely delivery, ensuring accuracy in equipment and paperwork.
  • Coordinate with the driver to ensure departures are before 9:00-9:30 AM and plan the driver’s day efficiently.
  • Pick and box hires correctly, ensuring all hire paperwork is included.
  • Book collections for returning hires and ensure they are off-hired promptly.
  • Verify that invoicing details such as dates, amounts, and delivery charges are accurate.
  • Clean all hire equipment to a high standard and store it in the designated place.
  • Log all damaged, lost, and faulty equipment accurately, completing the necessary paperwork.
  • Complete equipment changeovers within the allocated time.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace at all times.
  • Organise your day and prioritise your workload effectively.
  • Ensure the hire department continues to run smoothly during holiday cover.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Organised and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as required by the business.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to log information accurately.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
