A thriving secondary school in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced and compassionate Inclusion Centre Support Worker to join our team. This rewarding role involves supervising and supporting students within our Inclusion Centre, which includes the removal and inclusion rooms. You will work directly with pupils with behavioural and SEND needs, ensuring a supportive and structured environment conducive to positive learning and development.
Role and Responsibilities:As the Inclusion Centre Support Worker, you will:
- Supervise students in the Inclusion Centre and provide direct support tailored to their individual behavioural and SEND needs.
- Implement the school's behaviour management policy, ensuring a consistent and supportive approach to behaviour in line with school standards.
- Support students academically and behaviourally, assisting with tasks that require strong reading, writing, and math skills, including complex calculations when necessary.
- Understand and support the differences in children's development and respond to individual needs with sensitivity and adaptability.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor student progress and contribute to creating personalised support plans.
- Previous experience in a similar role or working with students with behavioural or SEND needs.
- Excellent reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform both basic and complex math calculations.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques, with the ability to implement the school's behaviour policy effectively.
- Sensitivity to individual differences among children and adults, with the flexibility to respond appropriately to each student's needs.
