Learning Support Assistant

Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: 85-100 per day
Contract Type: Full Time
Start Date: ASAP

Term Time Only . Monday- Friday 8:30-3:30

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional learning needs. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide tailored assistance, ensuring that each student can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with varying learning needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help to create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support classroom activities and assist with lesson preparation.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying any areas where additional support is needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to adapt teaching strategies and resources.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their independence and self-confidence.
  • Assist with the physical and emotional well-being of students, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students achieve their potential.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
