Our client has a new, exciting opportunity within the organisation to join their domestic abuse team to deliver specialist perpetrator interventions across Southend, Essex & Thurrock (SET). Behavioural change programmes are for those who perpetrate abusive behaviours in their relationships.
The post holder will be part of a small team, responsible for delivering specialist behaviour change interventions with perpetrators of domestic abuse across Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET). This will include delivery of the Men & Masculinities Programme (MMP), a 24-week group programme that aims to address men perpetrating abusive behaviours towards intimate partners.
For perpetrators using abuse within their relationships but falling outside of the MMP cohort, they deliver Embrace, a more nuanced 1-2-1 intervention that seeks to consider and address intersectionality.
These interventions form part of Pan Essex Perpetrator Provision (PEPP): A county-wide, universal, domestic abuse perpetrator intervention, providing a focused response to the perpetration of domestic abuse including work at professional and specialist service levels.
These specialist programmes are for those concerned about their behaviour within intimate relationships/familial settings. The Violence Prevention Practitioners will deliver these programmes and associated interventions. They will champion values across the organisation and drive the 'people and culture' agenda, ensuring a service based on fairness, collaboration and trust.
The post holder will contact and provide initial suitability assessments for perpetrators. They will deliver our specialist programmes to individuals across SET. This includes securing engagement with individual clients using a proactive outreach approach to influence attitudinal and behavioural change. They will work collaboratively with existing agencies within SET to successfully recruit those using abusive behaviours onto Pan Essex Perpetrator Provision (PEPP).Â
The post holder will promote awareness and understanding of the impact of abusive behaviours. They will work closely with the attached and wider victim support services to review risk, develop safety plans and improve outcomes for all parties involved.
The post holder will also work with communities and professionals to raise awareness of domestic abuse, challenge the attitudes and beliefs which enable it to continue, and offer effective interventions to relevant individuals.
