Test Software Engineer - Imaging Sensors for Space & Science

We are seeking a Test Software Engineer to support the design and development of Control, Acquisition, and Analysis Software used for testing high-speed imaging sensors. This role is integral to delivering automated test equipment (ATE) for cutting-edge imaging technology, supporting some of the world's most advanced space and science applications.

About the Role

Based at a leading technology facility, this role offers the opportunity to work on innovative imaging devices that are essential for radiotherapy machines and groundbreaking space missions. As part of a company undergoing significant growth and investment, you will be at the forefront of delivering next-generation technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver control, acquisition, and analysis software using LabVIEW and MATLAB.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of allocated tasks to a high standard.
  • Develop software work packages and related documentation, including test plans and reports, while adhering to an established development framework.
  • Collaborate with Electronics, Firmware, Project Management, and Product Verification teams to develop and deliver ATE.
  • Support and participate in project meetings, presenting technical information and completing relevant actions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement activities within the test software function.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
  • Experience with LabVIEW or MATLAB programming in a test environment.
  • An understanding of structured software development and test fault-finding.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and thrive under pressure.
  • A passion for innovation and a willingness to learn quickly.
  • Industry or academic experience in a related field would be an advantage.
