SEN Teaching Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well established School based within a commutable distance of Chelmsford. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that SEN Students are receiving the appropriate quality education that they need. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for SEND Education and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor and assess student progress.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with SEN.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student development and achievements.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
  • Proven experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Relevant qualification around education or SEN is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Day-to-day:

  • Working closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure individual learning needs are met.
  • Adapting teaching materials and methods to suit the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Providing regular progress reports and feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance SEN knowledge and skills.
