Nurture Teacher (Autism Specialist KS4)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurture Teacher to work in a leading SEN school that specialises in supporting students with autism, aged 11 to 18. This role is offered through a reputable agency and comes with a competitive daily rate of £150-£250 per day, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism and additional learning needs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, focusing on emotional, social, and academic growth.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and the wider multidisciplinary team to create individualised learning plans (IEPs).
  • Use a nurture-based approach to develop students' self-esteem, communication skills, and independence.
  • Implement and contribute to the school's holistic approach to learning, promoting well-being and positive behaviour.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a SEN setting, specifically with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Strong knowledge of autism-specific strategies, sensory needs, and communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH).
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
