About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded school in Chelmsford for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team in January 2024. The school is committed to providing a high-quality, inclusive education for students with special educational needs (SEN), and they are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can help their students thrive both academically and socially.

As a SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering tailored education plans to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties. You will work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and parents to ensure the individual needs of each student are met in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEN best practices and relevant legislation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • A strong understanding of a variety of SEN conditions and strategies for support.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of SEN legislation and safeguarding policies.
