Job Title: Transport Manager (Transport Manager CPC qualification required)
Location: Wix, Essex
Salary: 35,000 ++ dependent on experience
About Us:
We are a well-established transportation company based in the picturesque town of Wix, Essex. With a strong focus on providing efficient and reliable road haulage solutions, we are currently seeking an experienced Transport Manager with a Transport Manager CPC qualification to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the daily management of our transportation operations. This will involve:
- Operating a team of drivers and to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of goods
- Overseeing the planning and coordination of transport activities, including managing transport peaks and interpreting forecasts
- Utilising your in-depth knowledge of the road haulage industry to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Allocating and working with Sub Contractor Transport Suppliers
- Load building as required
- Responsibility for on-call out of hours contact on a rota basis
- Maintaining and updating transport records and reports using your excellent Excel skills
- Troubleshooting any issues that may arise and providing timely resolutions with your strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrating adaptability and the ability to work under pressure on your own initiative
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Transport Manager CPC qualification (Ideally, or willing to attend training)
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in road haulage
- An excellent understanding of the road haulage industry and current regulations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Excellent Excel skills for record keeping and reporting
- The ability to multitask and work under pressure
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach to work
