With continued growth they are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to strengthen their expanding team. Ideally you will have experience working on Volvo and /or Renault trucksKey ResponsibilitiesAs an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of HGVs and trailers, ensuring vehicles remain in top working condition. Your duties will include:

  • Vehicle Inspections & Servicing - Conducting routine maintenance, scheduled servicing, and safety checks to DVSA standards.
  • Fault Diagnosis & Repairs - Identifying and rectifying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, including engine, gearbox, and braking systems.
  • MOT Preparation & Testing - Ensuring vehicles are fully compliant for MOT testing and presenting them as required.
  • Breakdown & Reactive Maintenance - Attending roadside breakdowns and performing on-the-spot repairs when needed.
  • Workshop & Compliance Duties - Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workshop, ensuring all work meets legal and manufacturer standards.

Requirements

  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic, working with HGVs, trailers, or PSV vehicles.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diagnostics, repairs, and servicing procedures ideally on Volvo and/or Renault trucks
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • HGV Licence (preferred but not essential).
