Sonic Summary

A permanent position for a Workshop Fabricator/Welder has opened due to company expansion in Roxwell, Chelmsford.
The role involves fabrication and welding of handrails, staircases, balustrades, and structural steel during day shifts from 07:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with overtime available.
The salary for this position is £19 per hour, with enhanced rates for overtime work.
Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong understanding of architectural and structural steelwork standards.
An NC/HNC in welding/fabrication is preferred but not essential, and applicants must demonstrate a conscientious approach to ensuring high standards and quality.

Workshop Fabricator / welder

The Role:

Fabrication and Welding of Handrails, staircases, balustrades & structural steel in the workshop

Working hours:

Dayshift07:00 to 4:30 Monday to Friday + Overtime

Rate of Pay:£19per hour + enhanced rates for overtime

Primary Objectives

Welding and fabrication in a workshop setting.

Working knowledge of Architectural /Structural steelwork works and standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Time served welder/fabricator. Must be conscientious in approach to welding and fabrication to ensure high standards and quality.Working knowledge of Architectural /structural steelwork fabrication works and standards.

Act with honesty, integrity and accountability

Ability to work well in a team

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

An NC/HNC in welding/fabrication preferred but not essential at least 4 years experience in the above role.

Broad knowledge of welding and fabrication operation and procedures as required for the role and may include:

Manual Metal Arc (MMA)

Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG)

Metal Active/Metal Inert Gas (MAG/MIG)

Gas shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)

Oxy-Acetylene cutting/welding

Machine/workshop power tools and machinery.

Experienced working with a variety of materials to include mild steel, austenitic stainless steel and aluminium.
