The day to day duties of a Butcher include cutting, slicing mincing and dicing meat products, packing meat and maintaining high standards within the Butchery.
Some responsibilities of the role include:
To prepare all meat in accordance with customer specifications and company guidelines.
To ensure that all fridges, preparation rooms and freezers are kept as clean and tidy as possible.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all the companies products.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, managers, suppliers and any visitors.
Operate Bandsaw, packing machine, metal detector and labelling machine in a safe and professional manner, as per the manufacturers instructions.
Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility and report any machine maintenance problems immediately to the supervisor.
Understand the important of best before dates and be aware of any products falling below the required standard, and reject these products as necessary.

The successful candidate must have a positive can do attitude, be keen to learn new skills and have a desire to make a difference. Successful candidates will also be required to have the flexibility to work extra hours in line with the business needs.
