Senior Technical Lead

They are a small, thriving company based in Farnborough and Cheltenham, delivering proofs of concept and high quality, focused IT consultancy.

They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Technical Lead with strong technical leadership skills, strong architectural understanding of secure mobile (iOS, Android), cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cross domain solutions (low to high) and data analytics at the edge.

The ideal candidate will also have a passion for building high performing cross functional technical teams that work collaboratively to solve complex technical challenges.

This role is split between Cheltenham and Herefordshire.

As a Senior Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in guiding their technical teams and driving the successful delivery of complex projects for the client.

You will leverage your extensive technical expertise across a wide range of technologies such as secure mobile (iOS, Android), secure cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), cross domain solutions (low to high), and data analytics to provide strategic direction and ensure the highest standards of technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and technical delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Technical Strategy: Develop and implement technical strategies that align with business goals and drive technological advancements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, data engineers, software engineers and operations teams, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and applicability to complex problems and client projects.
  • Problem Solving: Address complex technical challenges, providing innovative solutions and ensuring robust system architecture.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and partners, to provide updates and gather requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with key software vendors to gain strong technical understanding of their products. Provide technical input to their product roadmaps to influence product features based on evaluating and user feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of a wide range of technologies, including secure mobile (iOS, Android), cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and cross domain solutions.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build, lead and inspire technical teams, with excellent mentorship and coaching abilities.
  • Technical Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges as a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, project management, or other technical areas.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in Defence sector is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • SC (willing to obtain DV immediately)
