Business Development Manager Competitive salary with performance incentivesLocation: Cheltenham, United Kingdom

Our Client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within their bespoke packaging division. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to achieve annual business targets, expanding our customer base, and introducing innovative niche products that boost profitability. As a key leader, you will cultivate enduring customer relationships and set the standard within our small, dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to meet annual business growth targets for our bespoke packaging division.
  • Identify new market opportunities and expand our customer base to drive revenue.
  • Promote and launch niche products that enhance profitability and differentiate our offerings.
  • Prepare and maintain an annual sales forecast alongside a 12-month rolling business forecast.
  • Produce monthly performance reports, monitoring market trends, economic indicators, and competitor activity.
  • Contribute to a 3-year strategic business plan to guide turnover and profitability objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of marketing materials, including sales collaterals, email campaigns, and digital content.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with customers at all levels.
  • Collaborate with Operations on monthly work scheduling and on-site projects to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively while supporting a collaborative team environment.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development or sales management with a demonstrable track record of pipeline growth.
  • Success in engaging with blue chip companies and liaising with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand customer product specifications.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety requirements, particularly for on-site operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and cloud-based tools such as OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Experience with work scheduling and cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero) is advantageous.
  • A results-driven, structured approach paired with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
