Our client within the the building and construction space, is seeking a Sales Manager to join their busy team.
Managing a team of 4, who deal with inbound enquiries, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth of a premium, values-driven brand within the architectural industry. Your experience in luxury or premium sectors, where attention to detail, relationship-building, and exceptional service are paramount, will be key. You will nurture long-term leads and guide them through a sophisticated, consultative sales journey.
In this role, you will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing inbound sales team while ensuring smooth operational processes and back-office support functions. Your leadership will drive both sales growth and operational efficiency to maintain alignment between sales activities and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the inbound sales and back-office support teams.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
- Set and track sales targets and performance metrics through regular reviews and development plans.
Sales Operations & Process Optimisation
- Oversee lead management, CRM updates, order processing, documentation, and reporting.
- Streamline end-to-end sales processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ensure alignment between sales activities and back-office support.
Customer Experience & Strategic Reporting
- Ensure seamless coordination between sales and customer service teams.
- Monitor key sales metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Continuously refine customer engagement strategies to improve satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualifications:
- Leadership or management training/certifications (e.g., ILM, CMI Level 3+ in Management and Leadership).
- Degree or relevant qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not essential).

Recruitment & Talent Development
- Experience in hiring, onboarding, and training a sales team, ensuring the right mix of skills and culture fit.
- Ability to create structured training programs for product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
Sales Strategy & Process Implementation
- Proven track record of developing and executing an inbound sales strategy.
- Experience in optimising CRM systems for lead tracking and conversion.
- Ability to define KPIs, sales targets, and performance measurement frameworks.
Leadership & Culture Building
- Strong leadership in motivating and coaching individuals to achieve high performance.
- Experience in creating a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused sales culture.
- Knowledge of employee engagement techniques to drive commitment and retention.
Sales & Customer Experience Expertise
- Background in consultative or solution-based selling, particularly in B2B or construction-related industries.
- Skilled in lead nurturing with architect-led projects, cultivating long-term partnerships through strategic communication and proactive follow-ups.
- Ability to create, refine and standardise sales scripts, objection handling, and negotiation techniques.
- Experience in integrating sales with marketing and customer service to ensure a seamless customer journey.
Scaling & Continuous Improvement
- Ability to analyse performance data and embed processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
This role is office based, however there is a possibility of hybrid working 1 day per week, but due to the nature of the role you are expected to be present in the office the majority of the time.
In return our client offers a generous base salary of £45,000-£50,000 with a good bonus structure, enhanced holiday, an EV car scheme and other additional benefits.
