Brief description of duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that childrens are properly cared for and supervised; including feeding, selfcare and changing nappies. Supporting childrens play and relationships
- Prepare meals and snacks, involving the children as much as possible.
- Implement the principles of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
- Support children's independence and development.
- Monitor, track and record children's development and provide core feedback to parents in person and through tapestry, in conjunction with the manager, and carry out parent consultations events as required.
- Contribute to managing inventory, ordering materials resources and consumable
- Keep the nursery clean, tidy and organised
- Ensure fruit and vegetables are purchased for snacks on a rota basis.
- Contribute to planning if necessary
- Attending Friday morning review meeting and regular staff meetings
- Working to promote safeguarding, equality and diversity and values in the setting.
- Administering First Aid and medication if qualified and filling in accident forms.
- Reporting Accidents to the management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a EYFS level 2
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children
Skills:
- Knowledge of early childhood education theories and practices
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to establish positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and understanding of the needs of young children
