Term Time Only

Brief description of duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that childrens are properly cared for and supervised; including feeding, selfcare and changing nappies. Supporting childrens play and relationships
  • Prepare meals and snacks, involving the children as much as possible.
  • Implement the principles of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
  • Support children's independence and development.
  • Monitor, track and record children's development and provide core feedback to parents in person and through tapestry, in conjunction with the manager, and carry out parent consultations events as required.
  • Contribute to managing inventory, ordering materials resources and consumable
  • Keep the nursery clean, tidy and organised
  • Ensure fruit and vegetables are purchased for snacks on a rota basis.
  • Contribute to planning if necessary
  • Attending Friday morning review meeting and regular staff meetings
  • Working to promote safeguarding, equality and diversity and values in the setting.
  • Administering First Aid and medication if qualified and filling in accident forms.
  • Reporting Accidents to the management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a EYFS level 2
  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children

Skills:

  • Knowledge of early childhood education theories and practices
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding of the needs of young children
