MMP Consultancy is looking for a Building Surveyor (or Graduate Building Surveyor) to join a Local Authority in Gloucestershire. This is a 3-month temporary position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible working. The rate of pay will be determined by the candidates' relevant experience.

The successful candidate will support a variety of commercial buildings within the Council's Property Stock, managing maintenance projects, undertaking property surveys, and assisting in the delivery of high-quality planned and reactive maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure building work complies with regulations, policies, and health & safety standards
  • Manage multiple maintenance projects and ensure completion of the annual maintenance plan
  • Procure contractors in line with Local Government regulations and oversee costs and standards
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, service managers, and stakeholders
  • Propose improvements for value for money and service delivery

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Building Surveying or a related field or HND/HNC with relevant experience
  • Working towards a professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
