The Burford Recruitment Company is thrilled to be working with a leading independent agent for luxury holiday cottage rentals, to find an organised and client-focused individual to join their Customer Service & Finance team. This role will focus on providing exceptional service to guests while ensuring smooth financial operations.

We are seeking a professional with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. You will be a self-starter, able to manage your workload, and comfortable working with numbers. Previous experience in a customer-facing or office environment is essential, and you will need strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Responding to enquiries from guests via telephone, internet, and email regarding properties, prices, and availability
    • Providing alternative property options and following up with potential guests to maximise sales
    • Managing booking confirmations, guest communications, and after-stay feedback
    • Liaising with Directors, housekeepers, and property owners to resolve guest queries and complaints
  • Finance
    • Processing guest payments and reconciling bookings and finance systems
    • Managing the bank reconciliation process and chasing outstanding payments
    • Taking and refunding the security deposit
  • Office & Admin
    • Acting as the first point of contact for telephone and email enquiries
    • Handling general office administration tasks to support the daily operations
    • Maintaining databases and spreadsheets for property owners and guest information

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven experience in customer service, financial administration, or office work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
